SMEs are under growing pressure from consumers, investors, and regulatory frameworks to demonstrate their sustainability commitments. As larger companies comply with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), they increasingly expect ESG data from their suppliers, including SMEs.
What to Expect
The session kicks off with “Making it Real: Turning Sustainability Knowledge into Strategy”, a 10-minute segment featuring Sven Beyersdorff, Co-founder of Nordic Sustainability and Board Member of UN Global Compact Denmark. He introduces the core components of a strong and integrated sustainability strategy for SMEs.
In the 30-minute panel “From Strategy to Impact: SMEs on the Sustainability Journey”, participants hear real-world insights from:
- Vali Marszalek, Sustainability/ESG Director for Adria Region and CEE Regional Leader, Forvis Mazars
- Bryony Bennett, Design & Sustainability Director, Stronger, Sweden
- Julian Hochscherf, Manager ESG, hep solar, Germany
The discussion is moderated by Ivana Tsvetkova, SDG Program Manager at UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria.
