Despite mounting evidence that buyers' procurement behavior directly affects suppliers' capacity to protect human rights, responsible procurement remains one of the most overlooked levers in human rights due diligence (HRDD). This webinar series closes that gap and gives companies practical tools to strengthen their responsible procurement practices.
This is the second session in a three-part series on Responsible Procurement.
Topic Focus:
The second webinar in the Responsible Procurement series focuses on the practical implementation of responsible purchasing practices, with examples of effective and ineffective approaches. It covers how to review purchasing practices and a set of concrete practices companies can implement. The session draws on real examples from the textile, agriculture, logistics, and automotive sectors.
Guiding Questions:
- What are irresponsible purchasing practices?
- What are basic responsible purchasing practices that companies should implement across all products?
- What are risk-based responsible purchasing practices that companies should implement for high-risk sectors/products?
- What practical examples can be built upon?
Target audience: Procurement, Sustainable Procurement, Departments in charge of HREDD implementation
Speaker: Daniel Schönfelder, Lead European Legal Advisor, RCP
